Climb Montana’s Kila Crag

Enjoy an all-day or half-day climb at the most popular spot among Kalispell residents! The Kila Crag consists of nearly four dozen bolted sport climbs and is about 15 minutes from the town of Kalispell. Kila is a great place to climb during the cooler months since the south facing shale cliffs heat up in the sun and views from the top include green meadows and snow-capped peaks. You can often hear sandhill cranes crooning in the distance or see turkey vultures circling as they ride the currents of warm air rising from the cliffs.

Beginners will learn how to safely and efficiently climb real outdoor rock.  We will teach you how to tie your knots and how to belay your partner (hold the safety line).  The guide will double check your procedures and back you up all the way until you become proficient.  Advanced climbers can learn to sport climb.  Since this is a private lesson, we will tailor instruction to meet the needs of your party.  The guide will direct climbers to the routes that will offer each individual party member the appropriate amount of challenge and then will coach and encourage that climber to reach the top.

If you can’t find a time and date that works in your schedule please give us a call directly to arrange your climbing trip. We’ll do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
